England 2018

To be honest, Qatar is one of the richest Arab countries, growing rapidly, ridiculous resources and desperate to impress.

Qatar 2022 will be a hell of a World Cup IMO. I have massive doubts about Russia 2018 though.[/QUOTE

everton were one of the best teams in europe in 1985. unfortunately, we couldn't trust our neighbours to behave, and the same applies to qatar. qatar may be rich, but it sits in one of the most unstable parts of the world. literally anything could happen in the next 12 years.

Hopefully 2012 will signal the end of the world and do us all a ******* favour.

Human beings = ******s.

England don't react well to rejection and defeats, do they?

I'll be honest and say I'm pleased that it wasn't won by England as it would have meant Liverpool getting all sorts of funding for a new stadium, while Everton festers in the background.

I'm not arsed about international football, it's mainly [Poor language removed], so I'm really only concerned by Everton. How has this thread turned into an assault on scousers? No need for that.

Anyway, in the true celtic sporting sense, well done Russia and Qatar.

Ok well first point. The World Cup is not London based. The final may be there, but that's just Wembley. But it's the capital city because it's the most well equipped and when established was the most efficient and economically sound place to have a capital.

But it's the hypocricy that gets to me. You moan that England ****ed Liverpool over, and then a positive potential outcome doesn't come off and it's a laughable event. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Whether or not you don't feel part of England, you are and you are governed by England.

And finally, millions of new jobs and revenue is not a trivial matter.

To be honest you cant blame fifa. When the head of the bid comes out and embarrasses them by saying theres corruption, tv docs investigate it, and the most watched league in the world still shows violence at grounds...its was never gonna happen.

Fifa dont like england...we didnt do anything to make em change their mind

Actually they're air-conditioning absolutely everything ^^ It's in their proposals. In terms of accomodation and technology it'll be a whopping World Cup. The only downside that they have to cater for is the price for visiting fans of accommodation etc.

Well, I like "new" things. Russia will be like a World Cup time travelling back to the 1970's, whilst the Qatar one is potentially very exciting given how much money Qatar will throw at it to make sure they don't embarrass themselves.

As said above though, ticket costs and travel would be a concern.

That is just a nonsense. I'm sorry but it is. You like "new" things but then you dismiss a first world cup to be help in Russia. I bet you could find a decent bar in Russia for starters.

Qatar is going to be crap. Sand and dust is going to be everywhere. It's a desert sitting on oil fields. It's going to be 50 degrees heat and there is only one shop currently in the country where you can buy alcohol.

Watching a game on a big screen outdoors will give you heat stroke. And if your team wins good luck on finding a club or the like to dance the night away.

Accomodation is going to be ropey at best.

I would happily have gone to the Korean, Japanese, Australian or USA World Cups. Qatar is just a hot piece of desert.

Shock horror.

Hmm, well our own media didn't help and the sheer amount of zeroes on some of the bank accounts of some certain people.

I think what bugs me the most is that people who don't give a [Poor language removed] about England, at all. Bother to post in this thread which Phil setup in hope that England do get the World Cup.

I understand that many Everton fans are disconnected from England, don't understand it, never will. Don't really want to understand it. But then if you don't like England, don't care about England, then don't ******* post in a thread about England, because all your doing is antagonising other people.

But then this is what I have come to expect.

It's not even a close call, so England have no right to be bitter about it all. They finished bottom. That's hardly an endorsement for the tory backed bid.

There is no need to muddy the waters with hints of corruption and bungs, the two countries relied on votes from the countries of the world so they both won on their own merits.

England just weren't good enough. They have to do better next time.

Well whatever pal, you obviously know best.

Envy? what the **** have I got to be envious about? Bitterness? You know you don't have to post in every thread about England mate, have a day off.

You've just come on and said some pretty unsavoury things about the people of the city of the club you support in your post result rage mate.

Everyone is not out to get England, they just weren't good enough.

Don't post about England if you don't care about them. This is why I stayed away during the World Cup, it's nothing but baiting English fans, that's all it is.

And you mate, as much as I like you, are the worse one.
