I don't find Russia getting this world cup over England funny at all, for many reasons, and for people who are supposed to be full on clued up about things politics, they just look stupid and childish.

Sorry, but it's hard to not find the London (and the provinces) 2018 FIFA World Cup bid failure as a bit funny ^^

Technically, England seemed the best bid but overall, Russia opens the World Cup up to encompass the whole world after finally bringing one to Africa.

Plus the cash changing hands from the Russian oligarchs to the FIFA members back pockets wouldn't have done much harm either.
