Jags was shocking for the first part of the season, but to be fair, he's stepped up. Still not 100% sure of him as a captain but the rest of the lads seem to respect him, he does a lot off the pitch for the club, he's been outstanding on the pitch of late (leading by example is something Neville couldn't do!) and on top of that, he's bagged a load of goals, including the aforementioned Kopite queller.

Fair play to him. Him and Stones -- the most deserving Young Player of the Year winner in absolute yonks -- have been ace.

In a season where we've shipped loads of goals, lost numerous times from winning positions (2-2 Arsenal, anyone?) and made the most defensive errors out of any team in the league, our defenders win:

Player of the Year
Players' Player of the Year
Supporter's Club Player of the Year
Young Player of the Year
U21 Player of the Year
Goal of the Year

Our first choice defensive pairing is good. It's when we're forced beyond that it all goes wrong. We've got no strength in depth there and it doesn't help having Howard behind them.
