End of season awards watered-down

There are plenty of ways to give recognition outside of the limited and unnecessary scope of an awards ceremony.

I think the club have correctly picked up on the signals regarding this.

Some form of recognition is important but in my view the best mode of this is informal and not at an awards night.

The best recognition is external, in grudging form, and from other players, managers, and clubs.

POTY:
Digne
Gana
Richarlison

YPOTY:
Richarlison
DCL
Davies

GOTY:
Sigurdsson vs Leicester
some other good but also less deserving goals

How about just announce them before the last home game of the season? Bring everyone out for some light applause. Sorted.

Why should it be less grandiose? Club is, and has to be, about more than the men’s first team

Because it's an end of season club award and not the Oscars. Last year's would still have been excessively cheesy and self aggrandising if they'd won the league, domestic cups and the Europa and every other team involved had also cleaned up.

POTY:
Digne
Gana Gay
Sigurdsson

DCL
Richarlison
Kenny (lol) - is there a third option here? Not having Davies.

I doubt a venue such as the Philharmonic Hall could be filled for the end of season awards for the U23/U18 teams. Both those sides deserve recognition and a posh do, but one that could be held in a nice hotel's conference room.

The ladies have won 2 games in 16 so far and have only been spared relegation by Yeovil being so bad and financially unstable. They like the men's first team deserve the awards that the fans vote for to be handed out at Finch Farm after the last game with minimal ceremony.
At two o’clock in the morning.

Or maybe they can use it as a way to promote less heralded aspects of the club, or give fans a chance to be near their heroes. It’s really important that Everton doesn’t get away from what is actually the most important thing at the heart of it - the fans and the community.

Player of the season:

1. Digne
2. Richarlison
3. Gana

Young Player of the season:

1. Richarlison
2. Calvert Lewin
3. Kenny (there wasn't a standout number 3 on the list)

Goal of the season:

1. Sigurdsson v Leicester
2. Gomes v Wolves
3. Digne v Watford
