Embarrassed

Just read it back a few times, and this just may be the single most awful post ever in the Everton forum. It's apologist complete drivel whilst having a pop at fans, all the while showing absolutely no passion whatsoever. It's like the OP is completely unaware we've just been bended over and bummed at home to Wigan in a cup quarter-final.

That result hurt yesterday, the way the players didn't show any passion or commitment and they just didn't look bothered at all, At half time i didn't think we would get back into it but i at least wanted to see some passion and pride and for the players to come out and give it a real go but even second half there was nothing, I can remember mirrallas putting in a good crunching tackle second half and that's what we needed from everyone from minute one.

Embarrassed is the right title for the performance, to not even score or show an urgent desire to score as quickly as possible, it was just sad. We showed nothing and it was so sad.

I've supported our beloved club for over 30 yrs and I can honestly say I've never felt so embarrassed not by the poor performance yesterday (Which wasn't good) but by the behavior of certain supporters, not only booing the team, but using twitter as a platform to **** certain players off.

It's one thing to voice your opinion when things don't go to plan and I believe in free speech, but some of the nonsense I've read in the last 24hrs beggars belief, fans turning on their own team and the Manager, this is not the Everton way and people need to realize that we've done well this season in certain parts with limited resources and yes there are things that need changing at the club and younger players given a run but name me a club that isn't in a similar position.

I just can't believe how quickly fans can lavish the Team and Manager only for them to turn against them in such a short space of time, all this is doing is creating fuel for the British media to put an unwelcome spotlight on our club which will damage us in the long run. Be careful what you wish for, do people honestly think Moyes should go, is this really going to improve things, making the Manager the scapegoat is one thing but forgetting what he has done for this club over the last 11 yrs, cast your minds back to Walter Smith!

For me any Supporter that boos his team is not a true supporter of the club, people may argue they have a right to vent their frustrations and maybe they do, but booing shouldn't be one of them. I watched the highlights last night and it didn't look good, made us look like a mickey mouse club. I understand after starting well this season expectations were high but are some fans are being deluded in thinking we should be challenging the top 4, for me finishing in the top 6 would be a good season considering the limited funds the Manager has and anyone thinking a change of Manager will improve that is deluded as the Red ****e.

Yesterday was the final straw for many of us who have backed the manager to the hilt especially when things have previously gone awry. The booing and the amount of fans leaving early tells you all you need to know. It would be wise not to ignore it.

The problem is, far too many supporters have heard the company line of 'plucky little Everton' for too long and have actually accepted it. The amount of apologists on Twitter for Moyes and Kenwright is far worse than people questioning the commitment of multi millionaires, paid to do a job and falling way bellow standard.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. I might have only been two years old when we last won the league and ten when we last won a trophy but those words still mean something to me. I cannot and will not accept anything less than 100% effort from someone wearing those words on his jersey.

Bang on this.

umm, i'm just going to say nil satis nisi optimum and leave it at that.

Fans had every right to boo that result, never a fan, but that was ****ing diabolical in both quality and commitment (bar a couple) from everyone involved. Neville over gibson for footballing reasons jesus christ.

okay, i didn't technically leave it just at NSNO - but it's our clubs motto for a reason, not this plucky little ****

This, I genuinely can't believe he's written that.

Lets all cheer the lads for putting in no effort and for Moyes capitulating predictably for the nth time.

Agreed.

Moyes' "taking a twig in to a nueclear war" crap has helped enforce this wide spread view.

Boo the team and the manager by all means. Scapegoating individual players and booing them is poor.

Totally agree with this.

They were collectively poor yesterday from Moyes to the team.

On the embarrassing fans remark - I agree with that too. Most of our fans are knowledgeable football fans, but as like with other clubs we have some complete idiots too. The great tackle by Mirallas that injured Miyaichi was a perfect example. He was getting some stick for staying down by the advertising boards in front of me. You could see the guy was injured and as he was carried off I saw some idiot stand up in the corner of the Gwladys berate him and shout obscenities at the guy in the stretcher. If you are that guy you need to have a long hard look at yourself and get a grip!

I'm embarrassed too but by the manager/board and players not the fans. I'm embarrassed that people like you OP just don't care anymore.

Spot on. The players and manager deserved booing for yesterday's shambles, it would have been ridiculous if anything else had happened. They've got to know performances like that aren't acceptable and as fans the only avenue we've got to show our disgust is through booing.
