It is probably worth considering that there is evidence to suggest that Silicon Valley may have drawn individuals with autism spectrum disorder or traits associated with autism, such as those seen in Asperger’s syndrome because of their abilities in maths, coding, science etc.

Musk, Zuckerberg, Thiel, Cohen et al have discussed their Aspergers or championed the 'power' of those on the spectrum. Jeff Bezos has been open about his ADHD diagnosis. People with Asperger's often have limited socialisation skills and are see no issue in pursuing ideas seen as strange by the wider population. We might see it as lacking common sense. What is particularly worrying is when these people buy into people like Yarvin and Nick Lands "Dark Enlightenment" and their neo-fascist, techno-feudalism.

Nerd culture can be superb at problem solving but if you are talking about people that lack true empathy because of a syndrome, have experiences of being bullied or isolated through childhood, are obsessive etc it might be dangerous to allow them to shape society.
