Listened to the WW2 and bit of the Churchill sections, and it’s pretty remarkable.
He kind of brushes over Hitler’s bombing and invasion of Poland, and subsequent invasion and defeat of France and Northern Europe, but then makes the point that after that, ‘Hitler then made offers of peace with Britain’, but Churchill wouldn’t accept as he wanted to keep the war going, and Churchill then instigated bombing campaigns in Germany which killed many civilians (as if the German conquest of Poland and Europe was free of any civilian casualties)
The new ‘traditional values, conservative right wing’, just asking questions, simply having an open conversation in the marketplace of ideas, wherein they recast Adolf Hitler as the attempted peacemaker of Europe.
Stop the world, I’m getting off.
