I bet Frank’s watched him tonight and wished he had a place for him on the bench rather than on loan. Mature performance, hardly lost a battle, great runs behind hold up play and strong runner with the ball in front of goal.

Good shout but I think he looked ready to push DCL the way he played tonight. I know it’s a level below but I think giving him minutes with Us would have been Beneficial too.

Naah, far better doing what he is doing. He will be ready next year.
It’s a good move for him if he continues to play like that. The reality is he wouldn’t have gotten many mins for us this season , now he’s in a decent team where he’ll have to earn his place . He’ll play in derbies, against the Old Firm , and matches with European places at stake. Far better than u23s or sitting on our bench.

A wee update on Simms at Hearts.
The fans have really taken to him, and the big guy has been in fine form. He’s only scored four times so far but his contribution has been much more than that. He’s a unit, and creates chaos when in and around the box.
He played very well in the Edinburgh derby last weekend and tomorrow, he’ll once again lead the line against Hibs in the Scottish semi-final at Hampden Park back by 23,000 Jam Tarts supporters. A win for the maroon half of Edinburgh not only gets Simms the chance to play in the cup final, but it would guarantee Hearts European group stage football up until Christmas next season. I think Simms has an option to extend his loan for another year so this would be a great stage for him to continue his development.

In the matches I’ve seen he’s always done well , lately perhaps he’s been less effective in terms of scoring, missing some good chances. For me still not ready to be a PL starter but shaping up to be a good squad player sometime in the future.
