I was listening to an interesting documentary about German music in the aftermath of the war. Radio broadcasts played, as you would expect, Jewish composers, but also promoted electronic music such as Stockhausen as a means to project the image of a forward-looking-looking progressive 'new' Germany.

got a link to that, mate? Stockhausen's very avant-garde, not an easy listen. He also did orchestral 'n acappela works. His Lucifer is dark as hell.
