El Crapico: Spurse vs ManUre

Can't do that anymore because winners go to the CL and there is no parachute back into the Europa if you fail in the CL.
portsmouth opted against registering for europe because of cash issues, so won whichever cup and didn't feature in europe the following season (the rs were parachuted in instead, fancy that), are the euro fee's the same across the board? What I mean is, could a club just pay it's europa league subs and play that season after season and so not be promoted to the CL?

You could argue utds fall from grace is something you could only write about.
It's great to see, although my hatred for them is nothing like I have for the rs.
How can they recover...I couldn't give a shabite myself.
Yeah, when I was a kid there was some sort of parity between the clubs.
Fergusons rise coincided with Evertons terrible drop off.
By the time Moyes came along, Everton were scrabbling around in Uniteds shadow.
I hate the way Kenwright and Moyes groveled at Fergusons table.
We'll take your cast offs and sell you our generational talent and we'll be grateful just to be in the conversation.
Sickens me, that stuff.
Then last Summer, they were playing media games to try and castigate us for holding on to our best defender.
How times change!!
I don't envisage them getting in much trouble tho, they hit it big just at the right time and are now one of only a handful of clubs in world football that may actually be too big to fail.
I hope they give it a damn good go tho.

What a wonderful advertisement for Dickie Mastersbator's Premier League Circus. A footballing masterclass in one of Europe's blue chip football finals by two sides who'll finish the season below "smaller club" Everton despite our horrible first half-season. UTFT!

I think you've gone back to the 20th century there squire. However, I believe clubs want the stigma and monetary reward of playing in the CL these days rather than operating at a lower level until they're ready.

Didn't River Plate, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal get slimed not so long ago? And Juventus of course, lord knows what would have happened without such loyal players.

Doesn’t matter, you wait in the long grass.

If you loose in any final you should be humble and a good looser, even if it’s killing you inside.

It’s probably more important than winning and you won’t do one well without the other.

Can't be helped depending on the level of ratness.

One of the best players to ever grace the game memorably lost his in a world cup final once
