Player Valuation: £5m
we all have been watching him for some time now,
and although there have been moments of pure brilliance, good assists and even better goals.

I was hoping for more, or is it he just isn't a wide player in premiership conditions, always looking tired and not tracking back when expected.

In a more central role I think he would flourish and even become stiff competition for Arteta, or more so than Cahill in that roaming role behind a lone striker, with two quick wingers and support from arteta and fellaini behind his vision and passing ability could tear apart defences, and his goal tally would go through the roof.

but out wide, well I think we will be having more discussions about his performances and or lack of them always finishing with "but what a goal"

whats your say??

I say hes not an English player, hes never gonna give us the tracking back we need.

Its not fair to expect Him to know the role just yet, for Me, he was a next level type of player, not the normal hard working Everton style player, the luxury, can do wonderful things with a ball type player.

People expect too much of him really.

Give him the ball and let him smash it, I mean shock horror, we expect the Right Back to defend, what next, Goalkeepers expected to come for crosses?

Just saying like.

We don't have a space to use him centrally, so he needs to get better to work effectively as a right midfielder who is cutting in, to create an overload in final 3rd centrally, as well creates a space for right back. If Pienaar could do it, I don't see a problem why Billy can't, although his average workrate is a issue here for sure.

he's got genuine class, he'll be a cult favourite with the fans soon enough, two footed, skilfull and with an improvement in work-rate he'll be a star

He's just a forward, I wouldn't even class him as a midfielder. He doesn't have the allround game to play in midfield. He does just need to not get knackered for no reason, if that's what it is. If it's lack of effort, sort your head out Bilya. Hopefully he'll get there eventually.

Gives Moyes time to make it work.

Arteta, labled a lazy sack of [Poor language removed] on arrival, Moyes magic later, superb.
Pienaar, labled a lazy sack of [Poor language removed] on arrival, Moyes magic later, superb.
Fellaini, labled a lazy sack of [Poor language removed] on arrival, Moyes magic later, superb.
Yakubu, labled a lazy sack of [Poor language removed] on arrival, continues to be that, he is 45 after all.

I'd like to see him played like this

------------------howard-----------------
coleman----hietinga----jags-----baines
-------------felliani-----arteta------------
anichebe-------------------------pienaar
--------------------bily--------------------
--------------------------saha------------

subs Cahill, distan, gueye, osman, hibbert, Neville, mucha, rodwell

In his first game with us he created chance after chance with his left-footed deliveries. We haven't seen much of that side of his game since, mostly because he's been used from the right. He's been likened to Kevin Sheedy, and I don't think that comparison is far wrong. Apart from Sheeds had one good foot. Bily's goal today came with his right. I'd like to see what he could do with a dead ball.

If you watch him he isn't as laconic as a lot of people will have you believe. He does make the effort to get back, albeit not with the same sense of urgency as Pienaar. I don't hear people criticising Anichebe for failing to track back when he's played out wide. I think Bily's been tarred with the 'lazy' brush.

You have to remember that he's only 24. They say that it takes foreign players 18 months to fully adapt to the Premiership. Pienaar had plenty of experience of the top leagues in Europe, but it still took him over a year to show his best form. There's also the fact that he's in and out of the side.

The lad deserves full credit for the quality and quantity of the goals that he's scored for us. If we can get him settled and playing at his full potential, he could be a major player for us and one of the finest wide midfielders (rather than winger) in Europe.

wow liked that then, looking at the team I put out and thought oh what about... and I've forgotten.....and don't forget...... but would I play.....instead I could use.....
picking a starting eleven is hard enough but deciding who to leave behind is the nuts

true, but I don't think it will be out wide unless its on the left.
and Anichebe was terrible at tracking back and can go missing for long periods, leaving the RB exposed all the time,
I think we don't notice as much because when he does he is more of a physical presence than young bily.

Still reserving judgement. This year will tell his story. I ssee him as an option at attacking mid - light years better with the ball at his feet than Cahill. I can see him slipping tidy passes through to Saha or making quick turns in traffic an blasting a few himself.

His progress or lack thereof is one of the most interesting aspects of the coming season.

The problem with him there is he has to be third in the pecking order behind Cahill and Rodwell. Obviously theres Injuries etc but we play with three central midfielders and we have in Arteta, Fellaini, Rodwell, Heitinga and Cahill five very good players for that position. And that's assuming we won't play 4-4-2.

The best role for Bily is as a wide midfielder right now simply because that's where we have a place he can make his own.
