@oldblue whats the John Oster story? Shot someone in the eye?

Think he made his debut in the charity shield and hit a 30 yarder onto the crossbar, from then on massive excitement from me thinking we had the new Giggs.

So much hype and cant believe scouts could be so wrong, had the technique but nothing else.

Bilic & Materazzi - I always thought they were good players and I don't see how Materazzi has a rep as a flop in England. He was obviously adapting to the speed of the English game but you could see the quality.

Maybe not a great partnership though as neither had much in the way of pace and ended up having to make several last man tackles from behind.

Literally this.

If the opportunity came again I'd snap both of them up. That team was so poor going forward and I seem to remember had Unsworth pumping the ball forward as our main attacking option. Can't help think these two night be more appreciated nowadays, but who knows

Ian Wilson. Just to hear the weekly put downs from the crowd. Can't remember who we were playing but seem to remember it being a mid week game near the end of the season, everyone knew he was probably playing his last game for us and we got a corner, he ran to the corner of the Gladys street and bullens to take it and the crowd rather sarcastically gave him an ovation. He raised both hands above his head and clapped back. Everyone melted an started chanting his name. Poor get.

Runs kids football coaching up here. He used to hold them at 5 a side place I played at so used to see him every other week. Always came across as if he thought he was a proper celeb.

.....not sure, Matey, but he was like a racehorse galloping up and down that left wing. My memory isn't great but I think he played LB when Van de Hauwe covered the CB position so brilliantly.
Yes, Psyco was injured a lot that season so Power played LB a lot.
Think (Dizza) Pointon went the other way as part of the deal.

......he was MoM in a Derby at Anfield, though. We were useless but managed a 0-0 draw which seemed like a victory at the time.
