GAZ says:

GAZ says:
but now this uefa decision 2 charge him means he could miss some games

I think he nails it.

Your friends keyboard appears to be missing the 'g' key

Its just the lingo aint it bra.

But I really think they have used the worst person ever, I mean lets pick on somebody that has only just come back from a horrific injury. Im sure his lawyers will have a hard job proving fear made him move.

Ronaldo should have been charged with this 20 times over!

Seriously, are people gonna start getting charged now for 'going down too easily' too? That's cheating isn't it? You're gonna get people demanding players get banned/fined every time this happens now and I bet you loads will still get away with it.

A precedent has been set now. Let's see how consistent they are when enforcing this. I bet a player like Ronaldo or Messi won't get pulled up for it.

I agree with the precedent, as long as it followed thru.

Name and shame the cheats, it will hurt their vanity and provide a deterrent not to do it again.

Like how Wenger is whinging about singling someone out, when he did exactly the same with Andy Johnson a few seasons ago.

He's Brazilian isn't he? And a diving little rat.
I'm made up they're doing something about it, it's about time.
I'm hoping it wont end there.
Couldn't agree more. Sooner or later they had to start taking measures and there has to be a first, so now Eduardo and Wenger feel victimized (fcuk 'em). We'll obviously have the same problem as always with a distinct lack of consistancy in the decision making but as Monsieur Platini would say, cest la vie.

As long as this is going to be consistent....more pressure on referees tho
Depends. If they're prepared to use video evidence after the fact to make decisions, the ref doesn't come into it. having said that if the authorities ban a player for diving in a match where the ref didn't see it, they are officially saying he fcuked up, so maybe you're right.

I would like to see it like the Rugby League. Video evidence on the crucial aspects , but a line would have to be drawn. I.e. reverting to the video referee for disputed throw ins would be crazy. Can't see it happening soon though.

TalkSport today. Adrian Durham obviously is astounded by the level of support for Arsenal and Eduardo, and that for years people have been calling for a clamp down on cheating, and now it's been brought to task people don't agree with it.

Arsenal fans and Darren Gough are saying that Eduardo jumped out of the way of the keeper so he wouldn't get his leg broken again.

If he is jumping away, then why is it a penalty?

Gough was also saying that just because no contact was made doesn't mean that it wouldn't have been made if Eduardo had not jumped out of the way, (or dived, or cheated, to those who know what cheating is). So basically he was saying that it was a penalty regardless of whether or not he was touched.

Unbelievable level of delusion by some people.

Say what you like about Adrian Durham, he makes sense.

From the BBC site:

606: DEBATE
It doesn't look like a penalty, neither does it look like a dive to me
Gunner_For_Real

So what does it look like then? Are they stupid down there?

I am all for Eduardo getting a ban out of this.

How can people cry about divers and the need to do something about it, and then actually cry when something is finally done.

Sure it may not be enforced equally across the board, but it is a start, and a base to build on.

Wenger is showing his complete lack of class by complaining, when it is CLEAR that his player dived.

Ban the cheats, is what I say, and that especially applies to our players. We are better than to cheat to win. I really would rather us lose then to win by deceit.
