What a Leg-End. I used to know his grand-daughter Anna. But your not getting a kiss an tell of me.

Top bloke, will go down in Everton folk law.

Eddie was truly one of the chosen.

That was a very, very special day for all true blues.

I love the way that Labone and West pleaded with the police, "Go easy on 'im won't you? He's just carried away..."

They understood what that second goal by Trebilcock really meant. Eddie was one of the blue family - so they spoke up for him. End of.

When I look back on it, I realise what a huge responsibility the players carried - the hopes and expectations of so many blues. Luckily for us, Labone, Wilson, Young and the others were easily good enough not to be overawed.

A final thought, Wednesday played brilliantly that day and must have thought that they'd done more than enough to win it. Gerry Young must have been gutted...

I was born in 66 and whilst I would have been a blue whatever the cicumstances - it is something that I tend to take pride in and gob off about when I've had a swift half or 2.

I think in some sort of bizzare or sub concious way this is why I ended up married to a bird from Sheffield - so I could gloat and gob off even more - but she turned out to be a blade not an owl !!!
