ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

not a clue @Pilks.

sturridge doesn't get rushed back because he's good. He gets rushed back because he plays for an incompetant club - the same club that saw torres, one of the finest strikers in europe run into the group and was finished before he got to 30, the same team than did the same to gerrard who saw him finished by 31. The same team who would have done the same to sterling if he hadn't have got out of there. His career would have been effectively over by the time he was 27/28 through total burnout.

Owen and fowler went the same way.

This is bad
At least they have a better keeper then us.

They have a huge list of actually pretty good players who hit the wall around 27-28, far younger than you see happen at most teams

There's only some many miles on some peoples clocks, earlier you start the sooner you will finish

say if Whiteside had broken into the team at 21 ( not old is it? ) he may have played until he was 31 not 25 or 6

Does ANYBODY understand this gibberish about Sturridge on RAWK...?

I'm lost, even by their standards...

Simon Brundish over on anfield index podcasts is the only person I've come across giving any insight into Daniel's injury woes.

They calculate 3 week averages for fitness. Go significantly above that and you WILL, as an athlete, get injured. Not just Daniel Sturridge, any athlete.

Sturridge is such a good player that he's always been "rushed" back too quickly without building up his three week average fitness. (A lengthy spell of treatment under misdiagnosis and conditioning by dinosaurs such as hodgson didn't help).

Klopp is trying to get off the Merry go round of injury-return-injury. If he can build up Sturridge's three week average then we'll have the signing of the season (just like 13/14).

Only time will tell...

Imo Sturridge doesn't fancy all this running around and doesn't want to play at the moment. If he gets injured again he will definitely be out of the Euros. He is 'saving' himself for the end of the season so he can show he is 'fit' enough to go, and he will hope he has a good Euros and can then hanker for a move. Running around a lot isn't Sturridge's forte and listening to Klopp, having a go at Benteke about his work rate and making an example of him by playing him at Exeter with the youngster, will not have gone unnoticed by Sturridge.

he was the other one i was thinking of. If we're honest we'd be doing the same with lukaku if he spent most of his career here, but we don't have £100's of millions to spunk on 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th choice alternatives.

They always seem to have that player they're so heavily reliant on that they play them in every minute of every game of every cup for years. The luck of playing for liverpool also sees them not get injured much.

Despite hodgson adamantly stating that players returning from injury close to the end of the season will have to prove their fitness/worth, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if luggage (as me dirty red arl fella calls him) was included in the euros squad even if he came back for the last 1-2 games of the season.

I mean, lallana & horrenderson are shoe-ins for woy, after all...

Are they still banging on about the Hodgson England thing, it was more or less proven that Rodgers is an idiot and went against his own '3 day turnaround for fast players' rule.

Plus, do they not have the brains to think that maybe the England physio team (the people at the top of their field) would have had a say on Sturridge while he was with them and Hodgson will go to them.

"Some big stories both inbound and outbound from Anfield have emerged today.

In a sensational move, West Ham United have emerged as front-runners to sign injury-prone Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

Assuming he's for sale. Of which Liverpool have indicated not even the slightest suggestion.

The England international has mustered only six appearances for the Reds this season, netting four times, which has led to speculation that the forward may leave Merseyside this transfer window.

The Brentwood Gazette claim the Hammers are readying an £18million bid for the forward, who spent three-and-a-half years at London rivals Chelsea".

Missed training yet again.

"But Daniel Sturridge will not be involved after another break to his regimented training schedule.

“He had a break again in his training sessions because of his issues and he is back on the training pitch again,” explained Klopp.

“But he has had no team training since Newcastle.

“I don’t know how long it is (December 6) but that’s, of course, not a situation where we can think about him.”

It's in their DNA to blame anyone and everyone for something
