ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I await the Festival of Acrylic....the unfurling of banners along Anny Road ...their equivalent of palms before JK's feet. Especially their pathetic attempts to plug into what they think is Klopp's zeitgeist with the misspelt Nietzsche quotes...and the knowledge that more than one of them will do one trying to link Thus Spake Zarathrustra with the ex Leeds keeper of their witty "careless hands" fame.

theyve become unbearable with this whole Klopp thing, it's all a bit cringey.

I genuinely don't think they'd care if he did worse than rodgers just because ''He's Klopp lad''

Its kinda how United have been after Moyes got sacked. They werent much better at all last year with Van Gaaaaaallll and they dont care. Spend hundreds of millions more and are only fractionally better playing worse football, they dont care. "We've had to rebuild after the state Moyes left us in" forgetting quickly Moyes barely added to that squad and most of the players they added are from Van Gaaallll's reign of mediocrity.

On the face of it i would agree with you. However notice his backtracking recently saying he needs time and also mentioned about not expecting such attention and not enjoying it...

That tells me hes appalled.

You really think? I reckon this oddball will embrace all that nonsense from the bunch of circus freaks that follow that club. Dortmund fans are barely different, bring huge flags and banners to the game, sing YNWA. He'll fit them like a glove

Agreed, hes backtracking alot and has said he doesnt like all the attention.

He's volatile, I think it's fair to say.

I cant imagine he'll be at Anfield for long. He defo looks like a feller who knows he's made a terrible mistake. It must have sounded like a good idea going to LFC with the city's Beatles connection and the 17 year purple patch of Liverpool's history that brought their success. But he looks deflated to me now. He's still smiling but it looks a bit desperate. He's seen the squad, experienced the nobhead fans, walked around Sefton Park and prpbably thinks "FFS, what have I done? How have I stumbled into this? If only Rummenigge had decided to punt that effete Catalan. I'll give it six months here. Tell them I feel 'a Kenny' coming on and that I cant handle the pressure."

Capello has always been a top notch club manager in my opinion...

TBF using Real Madrid as a yardstick when it comes to the sensibleness of a managerial appointment is a bit daft; they are a club that jibbed off del Bosque and Ancelotti, in favour of Capello and Benitez.

The wife mimed "pushing you"...

You had a narrow escape there mate...luckily no bricks around for them either....

Agree with every word apart from the last sentence. It's not in the least bit sad; it's poetic effing justice / karma / exactly what they deserve - and long may it continue.

I actually got into a conversation with an older couple on holiday recently - he was carrying an RS carrier bag and we got to discussing (among other things) Brenda and Klopp. My most derogatory comment was 'you don't support that lot do you?' but when I revealed I supported Everton (not obvious cos I'm not a native), the reaction of the wife was to mime pushing me and aiming a kick at me while the auld fella waved me away and uttered the single word 'Cheats!'

Yet we're the bitter ones...? They can't stand the fact that so many football fans (save for the sycophants infesting the media) detest / dismiss them. A guy with something of a messiah complex chooses to try to become the saviour of a club with a Kult-ish following? He'll get all the adulation he craves...for a while. Hope he knows what he's let himself in for....
