ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Back to Sterling and City want their bumps feeling forking out that kind of money. He's got pace, but he's far from a natural finisher and he's a mardar5e, never stops whining... got mates who are good City fans and they're far from best pleased.

Doesn't matter to City. The Sheikh pumps 50m worth of oil out of his flute before he's even had his breakfast, he probably thinks this Sterling deal is some kind of currency swap.
the Sheikh merely wants little Sterling as his personal plaything like in "Taken"

cue Brendo as some sort of bumbling version of Liam Neeson trying to get him back

I know this is a joke, and I get it, but to take your point seriously, in reality the truth is in between.

He's very good. But he's not worth that much at all. If he's over £40m, then John Stones is £30m (and I'd rather have the player than the cash every time btw).

They came close 2 seasons back and now all of the best players from that team are either sold on or permanently injured, Coutinho apart.

They haven't adequately replaced any of them.

I agree. No doubt they've overpaid but I'll wait to watch a season with him alongside Silva and Aguerro before it goes down as the worse 50 million spent since David Luiz.

Yep, they want him to do the same with Suarez, he got good link up play and might make city play faster

Anyway, this is what £49m gets you these days;

That's really shocking to be honest. He has been alright, but I don't think he will ever come close to being even a Rooney level player. This is a true statement on what football is these days, kids with the slightest of potential having money lobbed at them. He has been good but not exactly outstanding, I don't see him getting much better than he is and certainly not on City's bench. A couple of bad games and he could easily be behind Navas in the pecking order and just be the most expensive Scott Sinclair replacement the world has ever seen.

Sets a dangerous price benchmark increase for english talent like the Rooney, Ferdinand, and SWP deals did a decade or so ago. Glad we have Stones, Barkley, and Garbutt locked down on decent contracts. Liverpool have gotten the best out of this deal, but we can still take pleasure in the fact that it has proper wound up their fans. They did well on this deal, but Rodgers is going pish it up the wall after QPR gets their cut. We also have Sterling's post-Liverpool interviews to come.

50m. 10m to QPR (no doubt they'll work it out with add-ons from City to reduce the amount they have to pay QPR), Ings and Bogdan free, Firminho 25m, Clyne 12m, leaves them probably about even with wages taken into account, etc.

I am sure they'll spend another 30/40m this window, no doubt.
Ings is a minimum of 4million and possibly 8

The kid having to leave anfield because of Rodgers and has slippy fingers

Remember when he referred to him as "young raheem" and licked his lips the creepy stubby fingered fish faced nonce

£49M ffs

Everton can field two different sides at Swindon both of which were put together for less than that.. it seems some clubs have far too much money and they don't know how to spend it properly either.
