Steven Gerrard to mark 700th Liverpool appearance by wearing special new boots

The specially commissioned boots have custom built 2" tungsten arctic weather studs designed by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, arctic expeditioner. He said "This **** does not f*****' slip now".

There was nothing wrong with the ones he had last year.......

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers said at his post-match press conference: "He could easily hurdle over the young player and he directs his studs right on to his ankle, which could've been nasty.
What the hell does age have to do with it? ya fat drama queen! He uses tripe like this when trying to make a daft point! 'Young Adam' was a classic when trying to excuse his crap form.
You know, if you took your lad down the local scout hut, see if he wanted a go in the cubs like. And Rodgers was the fella in charge in his shorts and his little neckerchief and that, talking about moulding young boys, the yewtree bells would be well a ring a ding dingin.

Danny Ings...really?!

Ha Ha Ha.

The lad gets a few goals for Burnley because no one takes them seriously and give them acres of space to play in. This is one I'd look sideways at if Everton tried to bring him in, never mind Liverpool with all their excess cash and apparent ambition.

From Suarez to Ings via Lambert.

Nice one no mark. Keep it up.

Where on earth did you dig that up Dave, not seen anything in the press.

What a hard faced, self obsessed hypocrite.......as though it was other people who did want Downing to go whereas he tried to keep him.

NOW
Rodgers also said he had regrets about the sale of Stewart Downing

Liverpool host West Ham in the league on Saturday, and they could overtake Sam Allardyce's men with a win.
Former Liverpool midfielder Stewart Downing has been the stand-out performer for the Hammers, and Rodgers admits he has regrets over the sale.
He said: 'Stewart is one that I didn't want to let go. He had a difficult start but on the second half of the season he was a regular. He's got a wonderful technique and is a good guy. It hasn't surprised me how well he has done.

Stewart Downing says he found life at Liverpool difficult under Brendan Rodgers...

.....Downing has principles, too, which is why he was so offended by the public criticism he received from Brendan Rodgers during their time together at Liverpool.
For the son of an oil-rig worker who was taught from a young age that success can only be achieved through sheer hard graft, accusations of laziness - or a lack of commitment, to paraphrase Rodgers more accurately - are taken personally. Downing objected at the time and here the subject again comes up. ‘He (Rodgers) was the one manager I had problems with,he says. ‘I found it very difficult and the way it was handled - to come out in the papers and basically slag off your player by saying you don’t try - that was poor really.
In Allardyce he found a manager he felt he could again trust. ‘He’s been great and I’m not just saying that because I’m here,’ he says. ‘After Liverpool it was good to be dealing with a straight-talking man.

I do not think he is that good TBH, but could a note of understanding be put in place and the actual signing takes place at season end?

Oh sure. Liverpool could have an arrangement with the player to sign him in the summer, but no registration of him to Liverpool could take place this window, with him still playing for Burnley until the end of the season.
