ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The thing is though, is that if it does actually turn out to be an international ban, could his value increase ? One of the worlds better players, probably in line to be crowned ' world player of the year ', not involved in any international fixtures. Playing international games is demanding, with travelling back and too around the world. Not to mention the risk of your player getting injured whilst on international duty. He won't be involved in that and the Copa America etc....

Could his value increase because of his absence from the national scene ?

No, his value is likely to have dropped now. He's damaged goods and anyone taking him on is basically attracting bad press and their reputation will suffer.

They'll be lucky to get £50m now for him.

I'd say it would be evened out by the increasing threat that he'll spend 10 games a season sitting on his arse, suspended.

I agree completely that he is damaged goods. I agree personally.

I'm just flipping the coin and seeing it from the other side of things, for arguments sake.

Seems like some of the RS are taking the 'he needs help' from a psychiatrist. I wonder why they didn't say that after the FA report when he bit Ivanovic.

84. We took into consideration of Mr Suarez’s apology, his personal statement,
supporting letter from Mr Brendan Rodgers and the letter from Ms Zoe Ward.
But when these were read in conjunction with Mr Suarez’s denial of the
standard punishment that would otherwise apply for violent conduct is clearly
insufficient, it seemed to us that Mr Suarez has not fully appreciated the gravity
and seriousness of this truly exceptional incident.

Biggest ban FIFA have given is the 8 they gave Mario Tassotti for breaking Luis Enrique's nose with his elbow, shouldn't be more than that.

Biting is really really weird. Shouldn't be a year long ban though.

They sanctioned or ratified or extended (not really sure of the correct word) the bans applied to Cantona and Ferdiand, i.e if the bans were administered by the F.A then UEFA and FIFA made sure that they couldn't be loaned out and/or play for their national teams. So in effect they have handed out longer bans than 8 matches.

It's his third time ffs AND, lest we forget, these bites aren't his only on field crimes, he's come close to maiming opponents for life on many occasions.

Total idiot whose actions merit punitive measures.

Was just reading an article by that plank James Pearce on the Echo site. The following comment is not related to the incident, but it still made me shake my head in disbelief....

"His goals fired Liverpool to the brink of their first league title in 24 years"

No lad, they fired you to second place.
