He thinks only fierce rivalry applies to Spain and not this country? If he cant see it under his own nose he needs to take himself to North London, Manchester and Glasgow.

Let's hope his players know the score and DO THE RIGHT THING.

If you think doing the right thing is Everton players throwing a match, then I'm sorry, you've really gone down in my estimation.

Nothing but the best Dave? When did that equate to losing?

There's thousands who feel this way. Probably tens of thousands. It's a legitimate p.o.v.

It's a pity it's not respected in the way that those of us who want Liverpool to be denied the title respect those who's opinion is for Everton to get something from the game. Our viewpoint is for the long term health of Everton, not a short term buzz from piling up another three points to add to the season total.

But there's more who don't feel that way. Look at the poll on the Everton forum. 75% want us to win.

Wanting another team to be denied success at the expense of us isn't being an Evertonian, it's being something else altogether. They have a lot of league titles- will one more make a difference? Denying them one more won't bring us our tenth.

Nah, it is a lot simpler than that:

we want Everton to win - you want Everton to lose.

No amount of dressing it up will change that.

One title leads to another and another and a dynasty established. Anyone who doesn't think that could happen with Liverpool is living in cloud cuckoo land. Everton would become a footnote again...something we should oppose at all costs.

In the poll in the Everton forum, it's 75% wanting us to win.

The ones wanting us to lose are in the minority.

To be fair that poll was taken when we still in the hunt for the Champions League, now that possibility is all but gone I think you'll find that it's a lot less than 75%.

If you want to put it like that. It amounts to the same thing: Liverpool becoming firm second favourites for the title.

I think there's a few here who wont realise the hell of Liverpool in the ascendancy until it's too late. And there's a fair few who obviously do realise that danger and are willing to say so. That's the major division here.

You know, I am not sure if Liverpool won the Premiership this year they could necessarily repeat in the following years.

If they win, it will be because of the freakishly good form of their two strikers, something which the law of averages and the history of the game suggests is not sustainable over the long term.

It is a myth that Rodgers has suddenly become a footballing genius and that Liverpool have a platform for sustained success.

It will be a freak result, based on the unsustainable form of two strikers, the absence of Manchester United, and the inexplicable inability of Chelsea or Man City with their resources to maintain a challenge throughout the season.

We (collectively) are guilty of giving them too much credit.
