ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

one of these days we'll get our wish. It might not happen while he's still at RSFC (more's the pity) - I see Mancini has made it known he's on their radar. Hopefully Brenton can spew the £30M plus into a gigantic Borini sized hole.

only thing I worry about is the increase in tv cash and the sales of Carroll and inevitably sewer rat will give them the cash to bolster their squad, the odds of them continuing to buy ****e at high prices cant go on and eventually they will get it right, hopefully carroll gets injured all summer and price drops and sewer rat forces through a move for a price much less than what torres went for.

i'd be more worried about carroll becoming a success at RS rather than them getting a good fee for him. Just because they overpaid by about £30m on him, doesn't mean anyone else will pay over about £5m for him. also, if they sell suarez, that is their whole team of this season they've sold. They won't be able to attract anyone that will continuously save them week in week out like he has, no matter how much money they have.

I worry this so called clause the RS have with west ham is real? They have to pay £17m to the RS to buy him if they stay up this season..

Even if they have loads of cash from sales, they are unlikely to attract the level of players they need due to being miles away from Champions league football. Plus FSG might want to see some of that money back given how much they have laid out.

Why in hell would West Ham agree to something like that.

The key bit in that Sky report:

"West Ham have an agreement with Liverpool to sign him at the end of the season, but we have no agreement with the player.

"It was his desire to come to West Ham to prove himself to Liverpool and that hasn't changed.

"He has had injuries since he came, but he is back to fitness now and we have 15 games left... we need some goals and some points, so let's see."

No doubt they will offer Carroll £10k a year and a free pie and mash every Sunday.

Even if they get a bit of money, the longer they are where they are the less likely they will be able to attract the type of player that will propel them back into the top 4.

They are where we are when taking into account the money and I would trust Moyes with little money more than Brent with money to bring in the type of player that can improve the team.
