It's a very dangerous form of sentimentality. They've literally never got over the 80s and their warped sense of entitlement means they think they are a far bigger club than they actually are.

It's okay to strive to be a better team and improve - after all, we do - but this mass delusion that they are champions in waiting is reaching meltdown levels of fewm.
