Slippy G saying he can help Allardyce, and he should seek the experience of former England stars.

Does he mean those overgrown Nancy's that used to just lay down and die every time they wore the England shirt. FFS, he's one of the reasons I don't care about international football anymore. Our house used be full of flags and all that jazz when England were playing, not no more, sick of them.

Exactly, him and people like John Terry should be kept well away from the national team if they want to win. What exactly did he achieve as an international player?? F all

I see Gerrard has upped the ante judging by The Times soundbites from his interview with Henry Winter re England should be tapping into the ex internationals "whove been there and done that". Hes also taken to going straight to the top and hosing down Allardyce with praise...

“He’s upfront. He’s ahead of the times doing stuff away from the game to try and improve players psychologically. Physically, he was one of the first to bring more physios, more doctors, more masseurs and everyone thought he was crazy. He’s more clever than people give him credit for. Let’s hope he is the man that can take that pressure and fear away from the players and let them go and play. If that happens, we’ve seen it in the qualifying and in the friendly games that when they play with that autopilot they’re as good as anyone.”

For Christ sake, give him a job someone.

Barnes is fooling no-one. He's not exactly the sharpest tool in the box, but nobody's going to believe he wasn't briefed before the show.

"what will i be doing on the show?
"reviewing newspapers john"

If he was screwed on he'd have know there was a possibility that newspaper would be one of them
