I think they've caused themselves a massive own goal. As people have mentioned, those premium tickets were for that small section of their fan base for whom £77 is bugger all. They've wrung themselves a self defeating climbdown from FSG, but caused massive bad feeling from owners (screaming at them Greedy Bastards) that we Evertonians would be delighted with. The yanks I reckon will sell in the next couple of years, and will have no compunction of selling to the sleaziest Russian gangster they can find.

Maybe going against the grain here but this climbdown by their owners is a victory for fans of all clubs. There is no need for these ridiculous increases in ticket prices with all this TV cash coming in, and there comes a point where you have to say enough is enough.

Other club owners (hopefully including our prospective ones) will think twice now about squeezing the last drop of money out of the fans which frankly they don't really need. It would only go straight into the players pockets anyway and they are already rich enough. Sensible decision.
