ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

To some extent I agree with you that he could be effective, but I would be in no way willing to pay anything near £25m for him.

Just because those buffoons paid £32.5m for him doesn't mean cutting £7.5m off that fee is in any way, shape or form a good bit of business.

I'd probably begrudgingly pay £15m for him however that's still a bit hefty as he's really only a pretty effective one trick pony.

If you lump the ball in the air then it's goals galore, and he's okay at balls to his feet in the box, yet he lacks little pace or any type of ball control.

While he may work when Delboy or Baines whipping the ball into the box, I don't think he'd work too well with Barkley slipping balls in.

Some championship striker has just gone for £10+ million mate. Benteke is a Belgian international who netted 42 goals in 89 games for Villa nearly 1 in 2 at an awful club. No way on earth would we get him for less than £25 million and why would we? Liverpool won't sell to their rivals cheaply when you will have the likes of Palace, Stoke, West Ham all loaded from the TV deal wanting a 20 goal a season striker.

All those sides are a goalscorer away from pushing for top 4, that's my worry that we have one but are still below these sides.

Enjoyed the comments about both teams in this post match review

He might adorn the cover of the latest FIFA computer game, but nothing defines Liverpool’s lack of star quality than Henderson wearing the captain’s armband. Captains lead their team by example in the biggest matches, and those playing in central midfield should have the ability to grab a match by its scruff. Henderson falls far short on both counts.

Henderson runs around a lot, which is lovely. He passes the ball pretty well too, although gave it away with 20% of his attempts against United. But that’s about it. He does also regularly shoot from distance (five times in all against United, hitting the target on only one occasion) and commits fouls. It’s not enough to strike fear into opponents.

If there is a defining image of Henderson etched into my mind, it’s him loudly mouthing the words “ off” as he marches away from a referee after giving away an unnecessary free-kick 40 yards from his goal. That’s not a great look for captain of club and starter for country – I’m wearing my ‘Dele Alli fan club’ badge with pride.

* On a similar theme, what is Adam Lallana?
Is he a chance creator? Because he has created them at a slower rate than 84 other Premier League players this season.
Is he a goalscorer? Because he has scored once since December 2014, during a home defeat to Crystal Palace in May.
Is he a tackl… okay, he’s definitely not a tackler.

As far as I can tell, the bedrock of Lallana’s Liverpool career has been his ability to run down a touchline, do a Cruyff turn to stop the ball and then lay it back either to a right-back or central midfielder. In fairness, he’s got that down to a tee. Just a shame he’ll be 28 by the end of the season and cost £25million.

The start of MOTD2 shows the Dortmund team coming out with yellow and black flags flying. What has Dortmund got to do with a match between English clubs? I look forward to seeing the Lille team coming out next week on MOTD2. Unbelievable RS dominated MOTD trying to make Klopp feel at home because they sense he's made a mistake coming to Anfield.

anyone see this gem from murphy before the game? why the RS shouldn't fear united, i laughed when i saw the title because i was thinking, it would be even more the other way around. United have their number, no matter how poor they are. Liverpool are jealous of united's success and just crumble whenever they see them. Why on earth would they fear the RS?

Theres video on echo site but it won't let me view it. Two lads not knowing who klopp is don't know wether its blues messing about?
