Long? Shane Long? Shane f...ing Long? Where's the Dortmund striker we ver promissed? Ich glaube es nicht (as Wilson R. would say). We have the ein foot in ze grave now mit dis Possenreißer, dumbkopf, dancing, holding hands fanny brained ass in charge..

And who told the scout to buy a season ticket for Southampton? Is he under some sort of curfew to not leave Hampshire?

The Independent and the Sun have both ran stories this weekend that Liverpool were interested in Long during the January window.

However, the former have also mentioned Sutton aren't interested in selling. Maybe just be paper talk, but I think he suits Klopp's model.

Hard working, energetic forward who's willing to chase down and press the opposition, which is a hug part in their current model of play.

Not the best striker in the world (record of around 1 in 4), but he can do a specific job hence why I've said in the past why I'd have him here.

Surely though it will not match their fans delusional view of who they should be signing, so would not go down well. They expect a Benzema et al.

To be fair he still scored something like four in fifteen games at Hull, keeping up with the 1 in 4 ratio in most top flight seasons at each club.

He's not an exceptional striker by any stretch of the imagination, but I genuinely do believe he can do a job as a secondary striker at this level.

Still, it would be amusing if he were to go to Liverpool as they've already got an abundance of so-so strikers within their ranks.

Bentelehead is out of his depth with their style of play. Then there is the cripple that is Sturridge, the saviour Origi (better than Rom!) and Ings.

Firminho is also often playing as their false number nine so I'd count him as a striker. Then, don't forger Mario is also officially on their books.

Long would be another play to signal their terminal decline which they struggle to comprehend. He suits Klopp's style though so it's a possibly.

The media fantasy about Klopp is great. His results are as bad as those that got Rodgers the sack and their level of performance has not improved at all which you'd expect from any new manager, yet he's somehow the second coming. They really do just feed the mass deluded bunch.
