When you have a look at that likely Liverpool starting line up without Coutinho (who is a cut above that dross) then you have to wonder how they're going to sustain any form that gets them these unlikely wins. They are the very embodiment of mediocrity. That defence especially is outrageously poor.

If that feller can mount a successful CL spot challenge with that lot (without adding significantly in January) then (biased decisions in their favour or not) he'll deserve the plaudits he gets.

FWIW, I see two or three very good performances since he went to Liverpool and a load of old tosh in the other games. I'm convinced that without some serious additions they'll have a lot of slumps, losing games hand over fist.

If Benteke and Sturridge can stay fit that pair of strikers might be enough to fire them to a European spot regardless of how poor their midfiend and defence are. That is a rather big if though.

Sturridge: never giving anyone 15 plus games per season
Benteke: one of the easiest strikers in the PL to nullify.

If they go out and get Reus they can get a CL spot. With what they have though, no chance imo.

Plus three draws and two iffy wins against Swansea and Bournemouth.

It's a very mixed bag. My point is that no one's sure whether the 'big win Liverpool' or 'the get out of jail Liverpool' or 'the banana skin Liverpool' is the one they have on their hands.
