Duggan runs he Epstein House Hotel, former home of the late Beatles manager in Anfield, and has long been an outspoken critic of the way Liverpool Football Club, in cahoots with the city council, has blighted the area by buying up properties and leaving them empty for years, bringing vandalism, crime and dereliction.
