These are the most sung about (hated) teams in England

Nothing encompasses English football quite like an offensive chant.

Sure the football is not bad but the best bit of going to see games live is the atmosphere and that includes getting stuck into the opposition fans even though they’re probably quite nice people.

The good people over at FanChants.com have carried out a study using its archive of over 26,000 chants to find out which team is sung about the most, and therefore the most despised.

Unsurprisingly the least popular club in the country is Leeds United.
When you hear fans singing ‘We all f****** hate Leeds’ turns that is both factually accurate and well-researched.

Conversely, the chant most often heard from the away end at Elland Road ‘You’re not famous anymore’ seems to be completely wrong with the Yorkshire club still very much on people’s lips.

In terms of the top flight it’s Liverpool who finish last in the popularity contest.
Spurs are the second most-hated club in the Premier League with Man City in third place.

Then, rather unfairly, it’s Sunderland. Is there any need to kick a club while they’re down?

erm everyone's second club?

Surprised at 2nd, 3rd and 4th tbh. Thought it would all be Liverpool

well actually yes they are everybody's 2nd club...just behind Leeds in the hate stakes

My sister, who's a proper Hull lass, taught my very European girlfriend the "we all 'ate Leeds! we all 'ate Leeds!" song...they were both screaming it at the top of their lungs in the pub all night lol

Regarding the red shyte, the only reason there's this myth that they're most people's 2nd favourite club is because the media is utterly kopite-infested, so they push that popularity agenda.

I've just read this article from May as it was linked during the Paris Terror reports (as a survivor was also a Heysel survivor). This line is very telling:

We took our seats in time to see the last, fatal charge by these same Liverpool fans into a pen of Italian supporters beneath us: the panic, the flight, the crush, the thud like explosives at a distant quarry as a wall collapsed.

We saw the row of dead bodies and the whooping – I especially recall the Liverpool fans’ whooping.

Awful...just awful. And why isn't this more widely-known? Because of the afore-mentioned RS-diseased media.

RAWK are suggesting a Kop mosaic for their game against Bordeaux:

..and singing the French anthem to "show Klopp what we are all about".

*sigh*

Does anyone remember the Bolton(it wasn't over the line and Nev was fouled anyway;))away game first match at T'Reebok a couple of days after the Princess Diana tragedy, there was a minutes silence perfectly observed til right at the end someone shouted"What about Dodi?"felt wrong but couldn't help having a wry smile:)

I remember the Queen Mums one: "She's not my Ma!".

Lol.
