Given that players tend to only hang around for 3-4 years surely it's far better to think in terms of 2-3 new players of the right calibre and, if you lose 2-3 you line up adequate replacements for them as well. No need to tinker with 8 or 9 or 10 signings every season. So, why not identify the 3 most important positions in the side to strengthen and go with that? Or is that too bleeding obvious?
