ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I still don't understand why the media have this love in with the reds***e, listening to them the other day that Rodgers should be given more time, and that the board need to back him with the CASH needed, I mean WTF, have they been in a coma for the last few years and have just woken up.

The trouble is that with the likes of Carra, Macmanaman, James, Owen, Murphy, Lawrensen, (and Hanson previously) all backed up by the additional likes of Ince, Fowler, Hamman and countless others... And all banging on in the ear holes of turds like Alan Green etc is it really any wonder that the RS get the coverage and exposure they get?

It seems that few if any of the media companies are prepared or willing to use a guiding principle of journalism... balance.

And I blame SKY largely as they have spawned and driven the money-crazy football environment we now endure for their own means and to further promote their apparent desire for an exclusive 'Big Four/Five' (with the emergence of cash laden City) with the occasional knock-on-the-door likes of us and Spurs.

Don't really mind Macmanaman (he's never forgot he was a blue growing up) always remember him doing the half time chat one of our games, when asked what Everton need to do, he kept coming out with "We" need to do this, do that.

Okay Lou, I too can stomach Macmanaman, but the rest make me nauseous to the point where I'm losing weight throwing up as much as I do :):)

Rodgers once again wringing out the dishcloth dregs for another vanity project in the Echo. This time shamelessly trying to illicit some kudos for himself regarding Gerrard's penalty miss/then him scoring. He also manages to shoehorn in his daily reference to his team missing Suarezzzzz and take the credit for the winning goal by not substituting his skipper.

Rodgers: I knew Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard would be inspired rather than crushed by penalty miss

....
Brendan Rodgers said Steven Gerrard was in “that small bracket” of players who he knew had the mentality to be inspired rather than crushed by his penalty miss against Queens Park Rangers.
“I have seen it so many times in games that I have been involved in and watched over the years. Players miss penalties at all levels and the player in question normally end up getting substituted because it affects him. Rodgers compared that huge desire to win with another recent Anfield superstar, Luis Suarez, whose absence from the Liverpool side has probably been the main factor why Saturday’s victory pushed them only to within four points of fourth place rather than any of the loftier seats at the Premier League table
He said: “It comes from within. You create a cause for players to fight for. It’s a small bracket of players who have that feeling of never being beaten.
“Boys like Steven and the Suarez’s of the world are never beaten. Suarez, away at Norwich last season, was through on goal and missed while one-on-one. But five seconds later he scored because he has that world class mentality.”

The Liverpool manager revealed that even before his penalty miss, some supporters behind him had been calling for the captain to be substituted but he never doubted Gerrard could have an impact.
“They were shouting for him to be taken off before the penalty but I know his mentality,” he said.

What was that about respect, class and dignity the other day, Brendan ? And....in your talisman skipper's penultimate home game.

Players who miss penalties NORMALLY end up getting substituted....w t actual f

So, we all know that Rodgers has invented a lot in football but who would have thought he would have invented not substituting players during a game.

Yeah granted not subbing players is a great new invention by Brodgers but it pales into comparison with the time he invented playing with 11 players. For near on 140 years clubs all over had been playing with 10 players and a goalkeeper until this genius of a man thought he'd included the goalkeeper as a player.

Up until that point nobody knew what to do with the fat ugly kid who wasn't good at football...

then along come Swansea and make him manager.

He also invented this little beauty for egotistical buffoonery.

“It is great for the public here at Sunderland to see us,” said manager Brendan Rodgers. “They must have been wondering what this team everyone is talking about are all about and now they have seen. We were wonderful". After his Swansea team got beat 2-0.

It is laughable. Brendan Rodgers needs another 0.5 BILLION to make Liverpool into what amounts to a relatively competitive side.

They spent £140 million last summer and couldn't better what Everton did the season before.
