Have been loving the fume of the kopites in recent games. It's been quite excellent viewing. Not on last year's scale obviously but I've enjoyed it all the same. Yesterday's draw at West Brom all but put an end to the fume it seemed, as I think they'd accepted the race for 4th was over.

Was just thinking that. He's not been great all year round, which is surely a prerequisite for the team of the year; it's not the team of the now and then or every so often.

And ultimate what has he done? Inspired them all the way to another season of missing the targets required by their massive financial outlay?

It's like they just felt they had to have a RS player in there somewhere.

Read somewhere that the voting took place right around the time he scored those two cracking goals. The voting process must be pretty screwy if people vote based on that.
