Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has been dropped "indefinitely", Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed.

The Belgian was replaced by Brad Jones for Sunday's 3-0 defeat against Manchester United, and the Australian will retain his place for Wednesday's Capital One Cup tie at Bournemouth.

"I felt I had to change it because we have to find solutions throughout the squad to be better," said Rodgers.

"I said to Simon that it's for an indefinite period."

Daft that, Mignolet has been terrible but to say he's dropped forever isn't going to help him.

Could have just said that Brad Jones deserves a chance in light of recent games.

I think that is code for "as long as I am manager he will never play for us again", so expect to see Mignolet back between the sticks for the Arsenal game.
