ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

There are quite a few RS who, that apart, show themselves to be rational, intelligent people. The penny must surely have dropped with them by now regarding Rodgers and his profligate transfer deals...prima facie evidence that he has no managerial acumen whatsoever. I hope they were watching Samuel Eto'o today....the Samuel Eto'o who wanted to come to Everton under Roberto Martinez... while their noisy neighbours manager was spraying the Suarez money as high up the wall as he possible could on anyone who would come and then being knocked back by all and sundry in the process. The Cult Members used to bandy the word 'class' round like a Rodgers cliched soundbite....hell, they even tried to apply it to Suarez thus stretching its real meaning into another stratosphere of exaggeration.. Whereas we know class when we see it...and don't have to say much else...cos we know.
I am sure you are right and maybe I just haven't met any of them

The Mirror on Gnashers:

"His predilection for over-cleverness belies the fact he’s already won over the critics and fans with what he’s done at Anfield. Yet he seems far too keen to do things the hard way and therefore be seen as some iconic innovator of our times.
He also refuses to play the diamond formation that he and his team have excelled with previously. That would be far too obvious for Rodgers, who is now in full on hipster mode. He’s like a recording artist who achieves stardom via a string of infectious pop songs but discards all that to make a serious second album for the critics."

You wrote that about 2 years ago mate.

But blimey. The Sunday Time lad put the boot in today as well. Referencing Brendas analogy about how he coaches like he is preparing a meal.

"If we imagine BR as the chef in this world of LFC, you will agree that he has a big job between now and the end of the season. Because with all his new and expensive ingredients he has produced what can only be called a dogs dinner of a team"

Ouch.

Ha Ha Ha. That's a nice line. And true.

The diamond only worked because the unplayable Suarez spearheaded it.

no matter how bad rodgers' signings are, let's not forget hodgson bought paul konchesky, paul fecking konchesky for a team like liverpool and dalgleish spent £35m on carroll and bought downing - a player i bet 90% of english fans knew would flop.

at least balotelli was a worldwide renowned name, he's getting stick for his signings, but it's been a common trend for a good decade now under them, regardless of who's manager. benitez bought some utter horrors.
