but thats the point, they cant get 4th place and are already in the europa league, the league is pretty irrelevent for them now. hence they could afford to rest carragher gerrard and downing for the sunderland game.

they will concentrate now on the fa cup resting players in premier league games. Its not right but I wouldnt put it past them doing the double.

I can state with absolute certainty that they won't win the double.

RE their league cup win, yes they beat City and Chelsea but the Cheslea side was without, Drogba, Terry, Cole, Essien, Cech, Ivanovic etc.

Even the win against City owed more to refereeing incompetence and the African Cup of Nations than any managerial wizardry.

Genuinely think they have a collective mental disorder. Their optimism just isn't rational.

Still, if it keeps kenny in a job then I have no objections whatsoever.

They have to wait until they is a consensual scapegoat before they can voice an opinion. Atm it's Charlie Adam...all invective must be directed to him. Any which is 'misdirected' is disdained and the author is treated as some kind of internet leper.

well potential doesn't come cheap I'm sure,

but they've spent a hell of a lot of cash for players who apparently aren't intended to have an immediate impact

especially as most of them are first team regulars !!!

Not many Evertonians were thinking we'd go on to challenge for the league after that final, and wouldnt have done even if we had won.
