ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Sorry for losing against the best team in the league with 7 of our players out. We didn't try at all and only managed to score 2 goals vs Kompany & co. It's quite funny.

I'm not even getting into any conversations with them this week. If any of them watched that game and still doubt us then they need to seek help for their paranoia. But they can't blame their own team losing to a severely weakened team when shark head only needed a point, that wouldn't be someone elses fault.

From the Metro - no linky, no trafficy (warning exceptional bitterness content):

Why Liverpool will not forget Everton’s half-hearted efforts against Manchester City

If Liverpool were hoping for a little help from their neighbours Everton they were left bitterly disappointed yesterday.

The Reds need Manchester City to drop points if they are to have a chance of winning the Premier League and on paper City’s toughest fixture looked to be away to Everton.
The Blues have home games to come against Aston Villa and West Ham to finish the season.

Liverpool’s spirits were lifted when Everton took an early lead courtesy of Ross Barkley but their joy was short lived when Sergio Aguero equalised and then an Edin Dzeko double turned the game around.

Romelu Lukaku pulled a goal back to test City’s nerves but Manuel Pellegrini’s men held on to take them back to the top of the league.
Liverpool had hoped, rather than expected, their city rivals to help them but they will have been very disappointed by Everton’s performance.

Although the Toffees did take an early lead they looked half-hearted and their supporters would have been just as well staying at home as they turned Goodison into an atmosphere similar to a library.
I’m sure Everton fans are quite happy with their team’s loss because it looks like Manchester City will now pip Liverpool for the title, but it was a poor show from the supporters.
Liverpool will not forget this and our neighbours should remember what goes around comes around.

It’s not very often you see unhappy Reds supporters on a day when both Manchester United and Everton lose, but this was one of those days.

Roflcopter. we only didn't win der league because everton really tried against us and we got 1 point whereas they didn't try against city and they got 3 :(:(:(:(:(

why always us, why are we always the victim.

LOLZ

it seriously doesn't matter if we tried or not, the utter beauts are too thick and red tinted to see otherwise. i mean every premier league season has been based on 1 game since it's inception in 1992, it's basically anyones title to lose.

I dont trust City to get the job done with 6 points needed. The Kopites will need to drop points to Palace tomorrow (and it looks a massive banana skin, tbf) for City to be safe.

However, the situation is a LOT brighter than it was this time last week.

why's nobody talking about chelsea in that case? if both slip up, the league is chelsea's they'll win their remaining two

I could just about see both City and Liverpool dropping two points from their last two games, but expecting two of them to get beat is a tall order. Draws for the other two are no good to Chelsea, who are way off them in terms of GD.

btw they've got more to worry about concerning "what comes around goes around" if we're talking about their history. our history isn't littered with murder, racist chanting and hypocricy. think it's them who should be worried.

you know what the sadddest thing about yesterday is? you just know there was some of them too bitter to cheer us on. there would have been reds seething through their teeth wanting us to lose just so they could rant " them bitters didn't even try, small club, sh*t mentality etc." they've still won the same amount of premier league titles as small all old everton as it stands.

If Palace win their last 2 games they could snip a top half finish, which will rake them in a few more quid. But at the same time, they are safe, so won't be under massive amounts of pressure. Pretty nice combination. On the other hand, Liverpool need to win this game badly or the title race is all but over.

Massive pressure on them to pull off the win, but at the same time, City might mess up if Liverpool do the same thing. However, a Liverpool win may rule out complacency on City's behalf, and they may be a bit more focused for the Villa game. Never will I want them to win a game though.

I have totally ignored any bitter reds comments. As previously mentioned they fail to remember how badly we played at Anfield. The league is won over a season, not just one game, and one game that your own team isn't playing in where you are relying on a team you have absolutely no respect or humility for doing YOU a massive favour when they have nothing to play for thanks to 2 far worse performances in the last few weeks ending the push for 4th. Utter tedious morons.
