ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Mignolet is a better keeper than Reina, so it's no surprise to me to see him pushed out. Reina was hugely overrated.

Rodgers is hedging his bets by sending Reina out on loan instead of selling, just in case Mignolet flops, but there's little to no danger of that happening.

You're giving him waaaayyyy, too much credit there.

Reina's agent made the ****e aware of his desire to join Barca at the start of the summer. Rodgers then lined up Mignolet as his replacement. But he completed the deal too soon & Valdes decided to see out his final year at Barca, leaving the ****e with a keeper on £5.5m per annum on their bench, a fact that the Yanks weren't going to sanction, so he had to get him off the wage bill. Reina still sees Barca as his long term goal, so made it clear that he'd not go anywhere on a permanent deal.

All Rodgers has succeeded in doing, is using £9m of his transfer pot this summer on a position that wasn't a priority. So whilst I agree that Mignolet will probably prove to be a good long term signing, they've totally ****ed this up in terms of the overall picture in this specific window.

Yeah but they offloaded Carroll for less than half the price they paid for him a couple of years ago - without that they'd have spent loads net.

They've bought 3 players - a keeper that they didn't need & have loaned out a great keeper for nothing, Aspas who's hardly a world star & most kopites would have never of heard of him before they signed him & Alberto who Barca decided wasn't good enough for them, so refused to take up the option to sign him.

They've offloaded egg head Shelvey & Carrol, leaving their net spend at around £3m (I was a tad too harsh at £0)

A great window so far? Hardly, plus they face the prospect of losing theit best player by a street, who saved their arses with 30 goals last season.

Worried? meh.

Is this old?

reina is bog-standard average and has been for a couple of season now. it was definitely and area that needed strengthening. Juts hope mignolet isnt as good as i think he is

I'm sure the Krapites will think he's good since he has (in their words) replaced a Worldie..
