Agreed a deal with Seville for Luis Alberto, £6.8m.

On the heels of:

Agreeing a £6.7m deal for Iago Aspas of Celta Vigo.
Close to signing Simon Mignolet from Sunderland for around £10m

That's £23.5m spent.

They're also after Shakhtar Donetsk's Armenia midfielder Henrkih Mkhyitaryan for £20m.

Potentially close to £44m will be spent this summer if they get their targets. Obviously they banked £15m for Carroll, but that's still £30m Rodgers has been bankrolled.

Nothing ever changes does it? We don't have a pot to piss in and they spend money like it's Brewsters Millions every summer. No guarantee they'll do any good like, but it would be nice if just once we had the ability to go on a spree like that. *sighs*

I hope they buy even more. They'll take 12 months to bed in and get a team from them...Brendan will be sacked when they dont get CL football...a new manager comes in and starts the process off again.

They never learn. You cant buy success unless it's a team load of the £20M/£30M bracket who it's hard not to fashion a winning team from (see City).

For the record I agree with you davek, I just think it's the whole principle of it. It would be really nice if one day we could have just one summer where we don't sell anyone, there's no speculation linking anyone with a move away that we don't want to go, and we splash the cash on some quality players.

anyway, who are these people liverpool are signing, i admit i don't watch much european football, but it's very hard in this day and age with all these computer football games never to have heard of footballers at a decent standard.

£6.8m on someone who hasn't scored a goal at higher than B team level? that's plain stupid right? his scoring ratio at B team level is very average as well
