That Shankly 'socialist' quote is trundled out when it suits. The reality is they're a massive corporation ripping their own off and a parasite on global football talent, using financial muscle to keep themselves from terminal decline.

Then you have the sick spectacle of a handful of their many belters railing 'AGAINST DAT MODERN FOOTBALL LAD'.

You couldn't make it up.

They are a parody and would be hilarious if they weren't so offensively unbearable.

They were the first (only?) football club set up to solely to make a profit instead of serving the community. They've been capitalist scum since Day 1.

That mikchryran fella is decent but not proven at the top level so a big risk for 20 mil would love them to flog sewer **** and have this as their total transfer ins as they are underwhelming especially if reina goes on top of that and Gerrards a year older

Think he'lll sign for someone else. At the very least he'll be on Joe Cole style wages if Liverpool want to ensure they get him. Looks good on youtube and can't argue with his record last year but still a big risk.

That said i do think he'll go elsewhere anyway.

Fabio Borini £10,000,000
Joe Allen £15,000,000
Oussama Assaidi £2,300,000
Samed Yesil £1,000,000
Daniel Sturridge £12,000,000
Philippe Coutinho £8,500,000
Jordan Henderson £16,000,000
Charlie Adam £7,000,000
Stewart Downing £20,000,000
Sanchez Jose Enrique £6,300,000
Sebastian Coates £7,000,000

I wish we had that much money to waste on utter tosh
...........

Its embarassing to have that team remaining after that much spending.
That's only the players there now as well. Doesn't include the likes of Caroll for 35mil, who played for a season then lost them 20mil as he left.
Keane for slightly under 20mil who was at best a benchwarmer during his brief time there.
Cole who soaked up 100k+ a week for being in the reserves.

They have literally no idea what to do with money... Sadly they just keep spending more.

Just one year of their spending and we'd be out of sight.

Still poor them and their abysmal chairmen though.

We signed Fellaini in 2008, since then, they have signed the following players for above the 15m Club record we paid.

Fernando Torres £26,500,000
Robbie Keane £19,000,000
Alberto Aquilani £17,000,000
Glen Johnson £17,500,000
Andrew Carroll £35,000,000
Luis Suarez £23,000,000
Stewart Downing £20,000,000
Jordan Henderson £16,000,000
Joe Allen £15,000,000

Net spend the last 2 Seasons, when they didnt even finish above us.

2012 £40,800,000
2011 £35,350,000

DEM BLOODY YANKS

Oh and for context.

RS net spend
2012 £40,800,000
2011 £35,350,000

Everton net spend
2012 -£1,816,000
2011 -£12,500,000

Around 90mil difference and we still finish above them. I am not convinced by the philosophy.. Is it a, scout cr*p, buy high, sell low philosophy? Its been perfectly executed if it is.

The biggest travesty in epl history is everton not having the same cash as the RS, spurs, Sunderland, villa etc. To spend imagine where we would be
