ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The price quoted in an article I read was somewhere in the region of £40m. They've also bought Sturridge and Coutinho, which have been good and shrewd pieces of business for them imo. They've just gone and signed Aspas as well. It's starting to look like Rodgers knows what he's doing, at least in the transfer market.

aspas won't even get a game. another assaidi mate, good player but just won't get on the pitch.

So the utterly obvious is happening. Zero surprise. The RAWK revisionists will be seeing how they can rewrite history as we speak.

Fully expect Suarez shirts to be burned outside Melwood this Summer.

Or "Saurez" shirts as is most likely.

Oh, they won't get near £50m, nor £40m. And I doubt it'll be Madrid either. He'll kick up a fuss and some tin pot side with more money than sense like PSG or Anzhi will come in with around £30m.

Which they'll blow on Conor Sammon or something.

Spending £7.5m on a striker with a marginally better goal average last year than Jelavic from a side who have just been relegated doesn't exactly strike me as smart business. If we'd have signed him I'd be really annoyed - Borini the Second.

We'll see mate. They've had their fair share of shocking buys over the last 10-15 years but for all the garbage French, Spanish, and then British players that they've bought there always seems to be the odd world-class signing (Torres, Suarez) that carries them for years to come. Which they make a hefty profit on as well. They've never spent the resulting money wisely (Carrol lol) but that might just be beginning to change, which I fear.

a chelsea reject and an inter reject (remember they lost 4-1 to spurs). They'll run out of steam soon just you watch.

who is this tapas feller anyway, never heard of hime, have they actually bought him?

You know if they do sell him, Brenda will get most if not all the money to rebuild his squad. Sadly I can't see that happening if we lose someone like Fellaini, our board would finance the debts they have built up instead.

We have nothing to cheer about.

They'll get around 40-50 million for him, and if they don't replace him like for like they'll end up buying two or three top class players. Which is more than we can say. With Martinez, we'll end up buying cut-rate Spanish players from the second or third division who just know how to play pretty football.

I think the same- I don't know if Martinez will be trusted with all the money on account of him, well, not being David moyes. He's certainly not coming in to move us forward - in the board's eyes I fear it is impossible.

Liverpool to finish above us next season for sure. They should do considering they've already spent more than we will this summer!

And the Suarez thing hasn't worked as expected- I thought the narrative would be similar to this but played in a more stage managed fashion so he left the scorned hero, forced out by the corrupt fergie association (moyes' now ha) and the English press....instead the idiot has shot his mouth off and they'll hate him. Bizarre behaviour to the end from him.

Actually, that is how he's playing it. It's because of the "suffering" the British journalists have caused him apparently.

And apparently he loves Liverpool. I hope the disgusting rat stays there and continues to drag them into the gutter on a regular basis.........
