I had the misfortune to read passages from the book 'Heysel The Truth' recently. The stuff in that personal account from a man who lost his nephew to their butchery is harrowing. I wont go into it, but the most chilling part was around the aftermath of the violence: Liverpool fans in Section Z taking Juventus fan scarves and clothing after the wall had collapsed and swinging them round like war trophies, and the Liverpool players laughing at weeping Juventus fans from the team bus as it left the stadium.

And their reputation is now that pristine that the British media fall over each other to blame the game's authorities for another potential riot that they created with their swarming of that stadium in Paris.

They are hated by all right minded football fans everywhere. Utterly hated.
