ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Perhaps so. But the issue here is people who did have legitimate tickets, or indeed any tickets slowing the process up.

I mean I could be wrong, but does look like people arrived in good time.
Yeah that definitely looks the case, I still think it’s obvious poor organisation caused the majority of the problems that led to heightened tensions and then the french police did what they do.

Straight after the madness, Klopp comes out with this.

Blatant criminal incitement.
No, Blatant kopite arrogance - a clarion call to the most self-entitled fan base on the planet.

Well the French senators are also very much going in on the ministers in question Roydo, so, no.

They lied.
but but but howd we know this bit aint the lies though. conspiracy within conspiracy. oh the tangled webs we weave when we do practice to deceive. Forget JFK who shot JR?

If that was the case Roydo, why was the Liverpool end empty 10 mins before the sceduled kick-off time?

You can think that all the media is RS obsessed - and you know what, a large chunk of it is. I agree. Some of it, like Sky, has purposefully gone that way, because they're a successful club with a huge fanbase that loves to go over the top about any achievement and that's what drives hits and clicks and all that nonsense.

But at the same time, just a few posts ago you said 'you hate the murdering cult' (or something along those lines), so your opinion is biased just like, let's face it, we all are because we're there rivals.

I've looked at it objectively. I know people who were there in a professional capacity and said it was bad. I trust the reporters that were there too. I also think Liverpool fans as a collective generally tend to cause trouble but that being said there was nothing like this in Madrid, or anything in Kyiv (I accept, that is a much harder place to get to). And just because we hate them, doesn't mean we should be happy that a brutal police response and lying authorities (whether that's UEFA or elements of the French government) should be given a pass.

As far as I can see and read, the RS end was full, well, more than full, way before some genuine ticket holders turned up.

But done with this now. Blame is with fake tickets. As in, no fake tickets, no problem. We have all arrived at Goodison a few minutes before KO, with genuine tickets. Never, ever an issue. If the ground was rammed an hour before we did, with fakes, problem. That is what happened in Paris.

Yes. And there were no such problems in Madrid.

All I'd add, is 2 additional things. Firstly people climbing their way in. It probably diverted attention away from getting legitimate fans in towards those hooligans.

Secondly supporters turning up without any tickets. This just added to the weight of traffic. Klopp encouraged that too.

So with those 3 actions you end up with
1) An event that is full to capacity before all ticket holders are in
2) Staff distracted so taking longer to let people in
3) Too many people in a tight area, as more people than were budgeted for were there.

It's not difficult to understand really.

Would love to see evidence of that. You being a Journo obviously has evidence that their end had no one in it 10 minutes before kick off.
I wasn't at the ground. I actually was off on Saturday, so didn't watch the game. I caught up afterwards, I don't like watching their finals or games if I can avoid it.

Reporters like Oliver Kay (there's an Athletic podcast from, I think, Monday, where he speaks about this) were. As was Rory Smith, as was Henry Winter and Jason Burt. All of them reported that the Liverpool end was nowhere close to full as the match approached, and when the first announcement of the match being delayed was made. Apologies, that may have been 20-30 minutes before KO, not 10!

The French authorities claimed on Monday that 2,700 fans with genuine tickets were turned away. So if we want to say, then we can know that at least 2,700 people bunked in, as a safe assumption. But we don't know when they bunked in, and it certainly wasn't all before the game, or it would have kicked off before 9:36 if they had their end full and the situation outside was 'under control' in the sense of other fans being locked out...
