Numbers again. We don't care how many forgeries have been confirmed. The fact is that there were too many people at that end of the ground. There were too many people who should not have been anywhere near there.
The only people who should have been there were the 20k or so holders of genuine tickets obtained from the official source.
The whole incident was due to Liverpool fans overcrowding the area.
20k people could have been dealt with easily as shown at the other end of the stadium. 30k or more overwhelmed the facility.
Why can't the UK media accept the fact that too many Liverpool fans turning up at that place caused the situation.
The Liverpool end was full, they stopped any more going in unfortunately including 2k legitimate ticket holders.
That's when it all kicked off and the gendarmerie cleared the crowd in their well known and traditional way.
BTW the gendarmerie and CRS etc are part of the military, not the police.

I've heard and read the Establishment Club journalists in the last few days making the point that it was shocking (to them) how other clubs fans had reacted to condemn Liverpool fans immediately after the match against Madrid and haven't stopped since to doubt their original position on that.

What more proof do you need that these middle class weapons have no idea what football in this country is all about and how the vast majority of the football family feel about the species they protect at every turn.

Thats what does my nut, re the reporting etc. If there is one club in Europe who know the danger of overcrowding, (the reason is immaterial), its that one.

That's not true. The E*H* has him "doubling down" on his claims.

And he's not stating that there were now hundreds rather than thousands. I dont speak French but it looks from the captions accompanying his speech today that he's stating again that 70% figure for tickets.

No one thinks youlre a Kopite clown mate, we might think you're trying a bit too hard to defend the indefensible though.

It 100% contributed to it. As did the absolute farce of organisation from the French authorities and the complete maniac reaction of the French police/military.

Accept that they cocked up, accept that they're lying. looks like he can't keep up with his own lies.

I am fully accepting that more RS turned up than should have done, but that could have been avoided in part by having more security checks further away from the ground.

He initially said 30-40k fans turned up without tickets/fake tickets (on Monday). He now seems to be clarifying that it was 30-40k total (which is obviously more realistic).

If this was our government - who lie for a living - you'd be all over them no matter what club it was. This mob deserve the same treatment.

The figure was an extrapolation (and probably near the truth) and is now the last line of defence of the scoundrels defending the latest act of Kopite aggression against football.

He didn't say that on Monday. He said 30-40,000 people with fake tickets, which could not have been the case.

He has now rolled back on it, saying 10-20k more (so 30-40 total) turned up without proper tickets/with fake tickets (both the same thing). I've always accepted too many fans clearly went and the club should have done more, as should UEFA and the authorities, to stop that happening.

A simple process might have been having additional ticketing checkpoints before the underpass.

The security checks were quite far from the ground and it was where they have always been carried out without incident.

He has also clarified his 30-40,000 claim by using transport data (trains, buses, taxis etc.) The estimate is around 110,000 people were in the vicinity.

Someone I know said he and his friends bought 6 fakes, did he get in? , oh yes because at the last minute he got a genuine ticket for 500 euros , Fkn liar.
They cant get their heads around the fact French police wouldn't ignore criminal liverpool fans, their laughable defence and denials makes me wish the police used napalm instead of tear gas.

And the people who did turn up must take that responsibility. But it looks like the authorities knew there was a real risk that wouldn't be the case. So, why were they so badly prepared?
