Claim ONLY.. ONLY!!!!!!!!!! 2,800 FAKE tickets were scanned.

Bearing in mind that there were ONLY, ONLY, about 5,000 fans (or 1/4 of the seats seemed occupied) around expected KO time, I'd say "do the maths" and realise that many many thousands were allowed to bunk in without ticket checks (as shown on media).

By that token it's not hard to imagine many more fake tickets were in circulation.

the Guardian flat out lied about that claim tonight:

Officials at the Stade de France found a total of 2,800 “fake” tickets when scanning Liverpool fans into the Champions League final on Saturday, according to reports.

The Agence France-Presse claims the figure was confirmed by stadium authorities and representatives of Uefa during a meeting with the French government on Monday.

The French interior minister, Gérald Darmanin, claimed on Monday that 30,000 to 40,000 Liverpool fans had turned up for the game either without tickets or with counterfeits. He spoke of “massive, industrial-scale and organised fraud with fake tickets”.

Of course they barely acknowledge that he actually said "either without tickets or with counterfeits", and was probably correct - there were loads of them over there without tickets for the game, tens of thousands certainly.

Just watching this Solekhol character on Sky Sports News. Quite remarkable even in the era of unashamed client journalism the effort he is making to nail his colours to the mast.

You would think he was describing a Liverpool-sponsored club event that was thuggishly gatecrashed by a gang with the gumption to call themselves police, supported by an even bigger gang of liars called the French Government.

"I trust Liverpool but do I trust the French Government and UEFA, no" He has literally just said that.
