ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Looking at this it seems clear to me that Madrid fans were to approach by one route around by St Denis - 700m from the Stade.

rs from the end where the RER B is situated.

No mention of pre-checks for either route, so I still don't know if Madrid had more checkpoints than the rs. However, it is clear that the Madrid checkpoints did NOT have to deal with thousands of aggressive, bevvied, some coked idiots that did not have valid tickets.
No mention on the rs website of pre-checks either

As previously posted, Croke Park comfortably facilitates 83,000 on a regular basis for major GAA matches. There are checkpoints, with Garda support at six or seven points around the ground. You must have your ticket pre-checked at the proper checkpoint depending on where your ticket is for. No ticket, or fake ticket? you will not go any further.

The GAA website is very clear - much clearer than UEFA or the rs:

Your Safety

  • This is an outdoor event and concerts will take place rain or shine. Please remember to plan for adverse weather conditions and dress appropriately. Always check the weather forecast before setting off.
  • Show your ticket at the ticket barrier outside the ground for inspection.
  • Strict security checks are in operation.
  • Patrons are advised not to bring back-packs.

The heavy handed approach will have everything to do with the very same stadium being subjected to a terrorist attack in recent times.

Also their heavy handed approach could actually stop a disaster waiting to happen. We saw what happened when they did nothing, loads of supporters streaming through gates.

Everyone hates Brits. There is probably a reason for that.
guilty here like.

Comment by Rich Arlison a couple down lol

I think this too and it's where the club need to take more responsibility.

But look at the statement I've shared from Rangers - UEFA's organisation of these events has been shambolic. From venue choices to stewarding, to communication with both clubs and fan groups etc and police. It all needs to improve.
Rangers have piped up? Hang on a second, dont there hooligans have a bit of form for rioting as well at a previous final?

some pack of jokers this standing brothers in arms.

I'm going to see Liam Gallagher at Knebworth on Friday. There'll be close to 100,000 people going.

The festival organisers, the security, are responsible for the safety of everyone there, by ensuring it's organised and as safe as possible.

yes, that includes ensuring any criminal/dangerous behaviour is caught out, so they have to have ample amount of security and checks etc.

That's what UEFA/the authorities did not have in place - they had 6-8 stewards on one checkpoint before the stadium, to deal with approx 20,000 legitimate tickets and however many more who tried to sneak in... So they have to take the blame for that.
Yes, organisers have a duty of care, but if someone steals your ticket, are you going to blame the organisers or the person that stole your ticket?
