ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I see in our local rag that the RS will have a victory circus... sorry, parade around our environs on May 29th. Apparently, its the only day they can possibly do it because of players going on international duties. It's also the anniversary of Heysel. Never changes does it... the things we find tasteless and the things they find completely acceptable.

This is more doubt it.

This reminds me I seen this rubbish yesterday, moaning about City while they are planning this, will they insist on a minute silence at the CL final?

That's a disgrace if true.
Let them have their day,but come on, a bit of tact.

So from now on there shouldn’t be an issue with them playing on April 15th

I don’t remember it like that! We were 5th before that game, only 4 points behind Arsenal in 4th, going for Champions League. I definitely wanted us to win.
We were out of the race by then for 4th, we'd secured 5th and had nothing to play for. I wanted City to win, plus Naismith nearly got an equaliser, so we did try despite what the dark side say.

If I remember correctly the route of the parade in 2019 ending on the strand was because the council already had a river festival taking place by the Pier Head and couldn't divide it's security and event planners into two operations. They're doing the same again I imagine because of the roadworks that will never end on Lime Street.

I have a vague memory of the 95' FA Cup parade going past the Huyton village big Asda and that's where I watched it from on the following Sunday.

I don't remember any footie open top parades coming out our way to be honest. The nearest they got to Huyton was usually Queens Drive/Prescot Road junction. We saw them there in '95. They used to come from Allerton Station then straight down the Drive, turn off to pass Goodison then down Scottie to town.
