That’s the sort of media climate that exists now. Kopite journos know there’s pretty much nothing they can say that they couldn’t get away with. They can undermine referees, other teams, the PL FA UEFA etc., knowing that nothing will ever come back on them. Any journo who writes a word agaisnt rhem though faces being shut out of the gravy train permanently. Same with the pundits, you question that lot and you’re finished on Sky BT or the BBC.

I, along with many on here no doubt, was at the other semi at Villa Park that day and when we were out of the ground and hanging around our cars for everyone to get back, word was spreading round of "there's been deaths at Hillsborough" , the look of disbelief and shock on everyone was sobering, people were panicking as they had friends and/or family there and before mobile phones, people were desperately trying to find any way of finding out. I will not have it for one second that anyone of my era will chant a derogatory Hillsboro chant.

I watched it live (on BBC, I think). Still haunts me. I can't even begin to understand what those who had friends and relatives felt. I used to say that even the most bitter of RS would admit that Evertonians were nothing but exemplary when it came to Hillsborough. It seems I was wrong as Evans has just done so.

Just imagine we're holding them at HT though? Or even keep it to one in the final stages. They;re going to be sweating like a glass blower's arse fearful that one slip could hand City the title.
