The whole rivalry between them didn't exist until the Ferguson told the press he wanted to "knock them off their F'n perch"  Even then they weren't really rivals on the pitch because at the time the rags had no peers in England.  We aren't their rivals but 90% of the rag songbook is about city. When we were in the third tier they were winning trebles, but they still had banners up mocking our lack of success. Strange thing to do for a club that means nothing to you.
Now the rags and the asthmatics are in each others pockets, scheming and plotting together, as thick as thieves.
They're not rivals, they are just different cheeks on the same rancid backside.
Liverpool/Utd rivalry is about as real as Klopps teeth.
