Odd how Carragher and Neville both put Van Dijk in their team of the year, even though he missed half of that period being out injured. Carragher even has him down as better than Dias who won the league last season. Even Jota makes it in ahead of any of the City title winners upfront.

Keep the propaganda going lads. I’m surprised they’ve not found a way to get Allison in ahead of Mendy and Ederson. Oh wait they did.

It's not a team of the year though, it's a team of the season so far up to the halfway point. Which is a bit weird in itself to be honest, but that's what it is anyway.

What City Striker would you have in the team (they don't have any)

If it’s halfway that’s slightly different then. Still not sure I’d have Van Dijk in though when you look at how dodgy he’s been in many games. Alisson would be nowhere near it either, he’s been poor individually in loads of games.

Rice and Rodri would have to be in there but I think Kante was unbelievable before this injury he’s had.

I’d put Silva in with Salah if we’re talking about who has been the best attacking players this season. Could literally be anyone to partner them, no one else has stood out at that level.
