Shocking - it was clear he was being disrespectful, and for him not to have the good grace to admit it and apologise, then try and spin it onto the reporter having the problem is disgusting.

"I didn't mean it like that" is the opposite of an apology, it's like starting a sentence with "no offence, but..." Or "I'm not a racist, right, but.."
